Gravesite of George W. and Fronia Roberson

The gravesite of George W(ashington) and Saphronia "Fronia" (Hart) Roberson is about a 1 mile SE of Byars, McClain County, Oklahoma, on Choctaw Street.  They are buried together.  There are no other known family members in the cemetery.

The gravestone consists of a double headstone for George and his wife, Fronia:

As mentioned, while there are no other known Roberson family members buried in this cemetery, Kirby Pugh, shot and killed by Carl Roberson is buried here.  According to his headstone, he died on 26 December 1922.  In retaliation for the killing of his brother, Kirby, Ralph Pugh shot and killed George W. Roberson on 27 May 1923.
